What to expect for your First Visit

We will discuss your child's medical, dental history including feeding patterns, oral hygiene, and habits. Most infants and toddlers are more comfortable with a knee to knee exam, this is done by having them sit on your lap and reclining their head back into Dr. Fred's lap.

Children ready for a dental cleaning choose from a menu of flavors for toothpaste, fluoride and glove scent along with sunglasses and the tv remote to find their favorite show.

All hygiene appointments are done by Dr. Fred. Prevention as it relates to diet, hygiene, feeding practices, will be discussed with both parent and child as appropriate.

When the diet is conducive to the development of tooth decay, improving oral hygiene alone is often not enough to prevent new decay, the diet must be addressed as well. Children often need us for quality control with oral hygiene long after we think they shouldn't! Changing habits is difficult, all the more reason to try to start kids off with good habits.
